Unity Wall

Unity Wall: A unity wall is a visual representation of students’ shared characteristics. Besides identifying student backgrounds, the wall can show what is special about each individual.The CSU Center to Close the Opportunity Gap, located at the California State University Long Beach, is a state-funded multi-campus initiative focused on advancing K-12 student academic success.

They should not introduce new ideas, instead, they should use other people's ideas. Luckily, there are ways to close the achievement gap and boost academic performance.

Dress Up Day: Dress up days are a great way to promote creativity and inclusion. In fact, there are many organizations, both for profit and nonprofit, devoted to the task of closing the opportunity gap.

Students

Students can participate in fun activities, such as football and tug of war. The opportunity gap is a real problem in America.

Alternatively, students can also choose creative projects to complete. The CSU Center to Close the Opportunities Gap was a collaboration with San Diego State University.

Color Run

Color Run: A color run is a healthy way to show school spirit. It is estimated that about 6 out of 10 students in the U.S. are not reading at grade level.

Event

This event can be organized on a daily basis, or on a weekend. Schools can also broadcast highlights on social media.

Service Learning

Service Learning: Through service learning, students are able to work with adults in the community to gain real-world experience. Some examples of activities include community volunteer events, field trips, and internships.
